First Swim Meet and Pep Rally!!!

May 7th

We can't believe we are already having our first swim meet this Saturday. Really looking forward to watching the kids compete this weekend. We will be hosting the Deerfield Village Dolphins this Saturday, May 12. GO JV STARS!!!

For our families joining us for the first time this year and as a reminder to all returning families, here is some information for our first swim meet.

PEP RALLY

We will have a Pep Rally on Friday evening at the Pavilion next to the pool beginning at 7 pm. We will serve Pizza. Please bring your own drinks, chairs and shareable desserts so that the kids can celebrate the start of what will be another great JV Stars season.

Please RSVP ASAP by either responding to this email and letting us know how many members of your family will be attending or posting on the JV Stars Swim Team Facebook group with the number that will be attending. Also, let us know what dessert you will be bringing.

Swim Meet Information

Our team sets up in Clark Henry Park south of the pool (to the right of the pool if you are looking from Equador Street) between the pool's fence and playground. Bring your tents, chairs, blankets, tarps, etc. and set up near your friends and neighbors. Just a reminder that no one is permitted to set up on the pool deck or inside the pool's fences.

No parking in the pool parking lot! We reserve that lot for the visiting team. Instead, park at Post Elementary School.

We will have concessions for breakfast and lunch at the Pavilion. Bring some cash to keep the kids and yourself feed and hydrated throughout the swim meet.

Please check your children in by 7 a.m. We will have poster-boards set up on the outside of the fence near our team set-up. Your swimmers will be listed along with each event that they will be competing in. Just place a check next to their name and remember to write down their event numbers.

Swim warm-ups for the JV Stars is 7:00 a.m. - 7:40 a.m.

Parents, you are not permitted to enter the ready bench area and the areas roped off around the pool deck. Only swimmers, officials, timer & scribe volunteers and ready bench volunteers are permitted in this area. Your compliance with this rule keeps the swim meet moving efficiently. There is plenty of room on the swim deck to watch and cheer for your children while they compete.

Volunteers Information

All volunteers need to check in as well. A volunteer check in poster board will also be set up on the outside of the fence near our team set-up. Meet Set-Up and Tear-Down occurs on Friday Evening at 6:30 p.m. and immediately after the conclusion of the Swim Meet. Officials, Timers & Scribes and Ready Bench volunteers will have separate meetings on the deck at approximately 8 a.m. Saturday morning.

Additional Volunteers Still Needed!!! We need to fill up a few more volunteer spots during the Second Shift. Remember, swim meets cannot happen without parents' assistance. It takes, at least, 120 volunteers to run a swim meet efficiently. Go the website and sign up.

5. Provide one or more of the following Concessions Donations to Steve Gill for a shift credit (please drop off during practice on Friday):
