JV Stars at Blue Marlins Swim Team
The kids did great at our first swim meet this past Saturday! Our swimmers won their first swim meet of the year. Looking forward to watching the kids compete and improve each and every week.
Missing Items
Troy Lewis informed me that he had a couple of items come up missing during the swim meet. A fold up chair in a dark blue and grey bag, a soft red Magellan cooler, a large Texans Yeti cup and a beach towel. If you picked up these items, please get in touch with Troy to coordinate the return of the items. Thanks.
BMST Swim Meet
We will be visiting the Blue Marlins Swim Team this Saturday, May 19. The swim meet will be at the White Oak Conference Center, 7603 Antoine, Houston, Texas 77088. Our team set up will be outside of the pool fence (to the left of the pool if you are looking from the parking lot).
BMST will have concessions for breakfast and lunch.
Please check your children in by 7 a.m. We will have poster-boards set up on the outside of the fence near our team set-up. Just place a check next to their name.
Will your swimmer(s) be missing the meet or will your swimmer be late to the meet or leaving early? If so, please fill out the missing a meet form on the website and turn it into one of the board members during practice. The deadline to submit the missing a meet form is Wednesday. If you will be late or early, state that on the missing the meet form so the coaches make sure not to enter your swimmer on a relay team.
If your swimmer is entered on a relay team, do not leave the swim meet until your swimmer has completed all relay events. If you leave, there is a good likelihood that a relay team will be scratched. That is not fair to the swimmers and their families who remained at the meet to only find out that their children will not be competing in the relay event after all.
Volunteers Information
All volunteers need to check in as well. A volunteer check in poster board will also be set up on the outside of the fence near our team set-up.
Officials and Timers& Scribes will have separate meetings on the deck at approximately 8 a.m. Saturday morning.
Unfortunately, I made a mistake when designating the number of timers we will need this week. I entered the number that would be needed for a six-lane pool. Unfortunately, BMST only has a five-lane pool. That means we have 2 too many timers signed up for the first session and 2 too many timers signed up for the second session. Sorry for the mistake. Any timer who wants to fill in another position, please let me know and we will get you scheduled. We will work with you trying to fill in that lost volunteer session.
Additional Volunteers Still Needed!!! We need to fill up a few more volunteer spots. Remember, swim meets cannot happen without parents' assistance. It takes, at least, 120 volunteers to run a swim meet efficiently. Go the website and sign up.
1. Star Search - 1 Second Shift spot still open.
2. Runner - 1 Second Shift spot still open.
3. Time Verifier – 1 Second Shift spot still open.
