Our swimmers did such a great job on Saturday. The meet was close to the very end and was one of the most exciting swim meets the JV Stars have had.

We have several events going on this week and it will be a great week to be a JV Star.

PICTURE DAY

Today is picture day. Individual and sibling photos are from 4 – 6:30 pm.

The team photo will be at 5:30 pm. Be there on time or your swimmers will not be in the team photo. Please have your swimmers wear their team T-shirt for the photo.

There is no practice today. Picture order forms are on the team website.

MID-SEASON INVITATIONAL

This year we have decided to participate in the mid-season invitational meet Summer Thunder. The meet is on June 3 – 4 at Klein HS. This is an optional meet for those swimmers who have qualifying times. The coaches and team encourage everyone who has qualified to attend. The cost per event is $5, checks can be made out to JV Swim Team. Please let Coach Mauss or a JV Stars Board Member know if you are interested. Attached are documents with more information and a pdf that lists all swimmers who have qualifying times. If your swimmer does not have a qualifying time, they still have another opportunity to qualify with their swims at this week’s meet.

JV STARS SPIRIT NIGHT AT CHICK-FIL-A

This Wednesday, May 23 is our spirit night at the Chick-Fil-A at US 290 and Jones Road. Take a break from cooking and stop by after practice on Wednesday for an easy dinner while supporting the JV Stars. When you order, let them know you are with the JV Stars. A portion of your sales price will be donated to the JV Stars swim team. Let friends and family know too and remember to tell them you are with the JV Stars when you are ordering.

SWIM MEET VS. BRIDGELAND BARRACUDAS

This Saturday, we are hosting the Bridgeland Barracudas.

Please check your children in by 7 a.m. Swim warm-ups for the JV Stars is 7:00 a.m.

Just a reminder parents, you are not permitted to enter the ready bench area and the areas roped off around the pool deck. Only swimmers, officials, timer & scribe volunteers and ready bench volunteers are permitted in this area.

If your swimmer(s) will be missing, arriving late or leaving early, please fill out and give to the coaches or a board member a miss the meet form.

Volunteers Information

All volunteers need to check in as well. Meet Set-Up and Tear-Down occurs on Friday Evening at 6:30 p.m. and immediately after the conclusion of the Swim Meet. Officials and Timers & Scribes volunteers will have separate meetings on the deck at approximately 8 a.m. Saturday morning. Ready Bench volunteers will have a meeting at the ready bench at 8:15 a.m.

Additional Volunteers Still Needed!!! We need to fill up a few more volunteer spots this week. Remember, swim meets cannot happen without parents' assistance. It takes, at least, 120 volunteers to run a swim meet efficiently. Even if you have meet your volunteer requirement, we still need your help. Go the website and sign up.
