Good morning everyone,

I hope practice has been going well for all your swimmers.  I am seeing improvement from the kids each day I have been at practice.

A. Time Trials

As we get closer to our first swim meet, we need to obtain times for each swimmer to enter them into the swim meets. Next week (week of April 29 - May 3) we will hold time trials. In order for your swimmer(s) into an event at a swim meet, your swimmer needs to obtain a time for the event at the time trials.

For the 6 year old and younger swimmers, time trials will be held during their regularly scheduled practices on April 29, 30 and May 1.  

For the remaining swimmers (7 - 18 year old swimmers), time trials will be held on May 2 and 3 at the pool.  On May 2, we will hold time trials for all Freestyle and Breaststroke events.  On May 3, we will hold time trials for the Individual Medley, Backstroke and Butterfly events. On both days, 11 - 18 year old swimmers need to be at the pool ready to swim at 5 pm.  7 - 8 year old swimmers need to be at the pool at 5:45 pm.  9 - 10 year old swimmers need to be at the pool at 6:30 pm.  

B. Timer/Scribe Volunteers for Time Trials

For both May 2 and 3, we need 6 volunteers to time and scribe.  We will need volunteers at the pool by 4:45 pm both days.  Volunteering at one of the time trial days does count as a volunteer credit.  You can sign up on the team website.  After you logon to the website, you can access the sign-up links for the time trials under the Swim Meets tab.

C. Social Media

The JV Stars have a private Facebook group, Instagram and twitter account.  If you desire, please follow these as we use them to communicate news and make announcements about the team.

The Facebook group is private.  When you attempt to join, there will be a few questions you need to answer so that we can verify that members of the private group do, in fact, have swimmers on the JV Stars.
