Hello JV Stars Families,

I hope everyone’s 2020 has started off great. The JV Stars Swim Team Board is working hard to get ready for the 2020 season but we need some help advertising. If you are interested in participating in the JV Stars Yard Sign Program, please email Krista ([email protected]) or Aaron Guerrero ([email protected]).

Yard Sign Program

Beginning in February, we will be placing purple yard signs throughout the Jersey Village area that will direct people to our website for registration. We need families to place these in their yard. The signs will go up in mid- to late-February and remain there until late March. If you want to help, all you need to do is let us know you want a sign in your yard and provide us with your address. A board member will place a sign and remove it from your yard. Also, if you have a friend or family member who is willing to help, we would love to have their assistance as well.

JV Stars New Family Referral Program

The best advertising is word of mouth. For each new family you refer to the JV Stars, we will provide you with one volunteer credit. A new family is considered a family that has not had a registered swimmer on the JV Stars in the past two years. In order for you to receive the credit, the new family must identify you or your family in response to the New Family Referral question in their registration. So get the word out and inform those new families to include your name in their registration.

Jersey Village Spring Fling Nature Festival

The JV Stars will be present at the Jersey Village Spring Fling Nature Festival on March 28, 2020 at Clark Henry Park (by the pool). Come on out and say hello!!! Also, let anyone you know who is interest in the JV Stars to come visit us to get more information about the team.

Looking for a Head Start for Your Swimmers? Try Lone Star Swim Team’s Head Start Program

A great way to get your swimmers ready for the summer swim season is to enroll them in a head start program. There are numerous programs in the area that run for various times from February to mid-April. The JV Stars Swim Team recommends the Lone Star Swim Team’s Head Start Program that runs from March 9, 2020 to April 10, 2020 on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 7 pm – 8 pm. You end up with about 15 sessions at a very reasonable cost. Lone Star Swim Team has generously sponsored the Stars for the past several seasons and their coaches do a fantastic job getting swimmers ready for the summer swim season. Registration opens for the Lone Star Head Start Program in early February. For more information go to www.lonestarswimteam.org.

Parking Lot Fundraiser

As a fundraiser, the JV Stars will again be selling the parking spots in the pool's parking lot for home swim meets. We only have about 30 spots available. First to purchase, first to be served. If you purchase a parking spot, one spot in the pool's parking lot will be reserved for your family at home swim meets only (spots are not reserved for practices). You can purchase a parking spot through your registration.

Remember, registration opens March 1, 2020. Be sure to register early to purchase parking spots and to sign up for your preferred volunteer sessions.
