NWAL has cancelled the 2020 summer swim season. Unfortunately, there were too many concerns throughout the league about further delaying the season, availability of pools and lifeguards later in this summer, costs and expenses for a shortened season and ability to safely conduct swim practices and swim meets.

It is sad the swimmers and coaches will not have a season this year nor the opportunity to strengthen old friendships, make new friends and improve as swimmers and teammates through the JV Stars. It is also disappointing that we will not get to see our neighbors and friends at swim practices, swim meets and team events this May and June.

For those families whose fees have been deposited, the JV Stars will refund the fees. Please allow us a few days to organize and make the refunds. We are looking into whether the refunds can be done electronically without additional fees or expenses. We will be reaching out to those families to coordinate the refund.

For those families who registered for the JV Stars for the first time this year, thank you for your interest in the JV Stars!  Please remember us next year when the JV Stars’ registration opens. The JV Stars are disappointed to not have the opportunity to get to know your family this swim season but we look forward to meeting you next year.

The JV Stars are planning to be back in 2021. Our registration for the 2021 swim season will open on March 1. Word of mouth is the best form of advertising, so please help the team by telling families interested in swim about the JV Stars. The team is thankful to those who referred new families to the team and who allowed the team to place yard signs at their homes advertising the team’s registration. Every families’ assistance with this helps the JV Stars remain a strong and vibrant part of the community in the Jersey Village area. We will continue these forms of advertising next year and continued assistance is needed and truly appreciated.

Are you interested in being a board member of the JV Stars? The team is always in need of leaders to assist in planning the swim season and running home swim meets. It is an investment of some of your personal time but strong leadership allows the team to be run and managed efficiently creating a better experience for the swimmers, coaches and families.
