Hello JV Stars Family!!!!

We truly hope that everyone is well. Undoubtedly, the last year has been difficult. We were sad that the 2020 season was cancelled and we missed seeing everyone last year.

The good news is the North West Aquatic League (NWAL) and the JV Stars are planning to have a swim season this spring and summer!!!! NWAL has created a committee that will provide guidance and protocols for running practices and swim meets during this season. We do not have all the details yet but practices and swim meets will be different than what we have become used to in the past. The changes are to help protect the health of the swimmers, parents and coaches. Information about the protocols that will be used league wide and by the JV Stars will be sent out when we receive more information from NWAL.

The remainder of this email concerns registration, advertisement and team related matters. We really need your help, please read and consider how you can help the JV Stars.

THE TEAM NEEDS LEADERS!!!!

We need several parents to step up and take a leadership role with the team. Every year we ask parents interested in serving on the swim team’s board to volunteer their time, effort and knowledge in making sure the JV Stars are well run. Every year a parent or two or three steps up to the call. We need some parents to do so now!!! Swim meets cannot be run without a large group of parents helping out. These large groups cannot operate without many people in charge. We need parents to take that charge. Please contact us at [email protected].

REGISTRATION OPENS MARCH 1!!!!

Online registration will open March 1 at jerseyvillage.swimtopia.com. We encourage everyone to register as early as possible this season. We need to understand how many swimmers we will have this season to properly prepare for the season. Unlike past years, we will close registration and no late registrations will be accepted.

YARD SIGN PROGRAM

The team will again be conducting its Yard Signs Advertising Program. We will be placing the purple JV Stars signs throughout the Jersey Village area that will direct families to our website for registration. This has been an incredibly successful program for the JV Stars!!! We need families to allow us to place these signs in their yard. The signs will go up on February 28. If you want to help, all you need to do is email us ([email protected] or reply to this email) that you want a sign in your yard and provide us with your address. A board member will place a sign and remove it from your yard. Also, if you have a friend or family member who is willing to help, we would love to have their assistance as well.

JV STARS NEW FAMILY REFERRAL PROGRAM

As we say every year, the best advertising is word of mouth! For each new family you refer to the JV Stars, we will provide you with one volunteer credit. A new family is considered a family that has not had a registered swimmer on the JV Stars in the 2018 & 2019 swim seasons. Yes, that means if the family signed up for the first time for the 2020 swim season and do so again, whoever referred them still gets a volunteer credit this year! In order for you to receive the credit, the new family must identify you or your family in response to the New Family Referral question in their registration. Please, get the word out and inform those new families to include your name in their registration.
