Team Party, Invitationals and NWAL Officials
What a great finish to our season! Our older swimmers did great yesterday and scored a convincing win 499 to 327. Results are attached.
It has been another fun and great swim season for the JV Stars. A little different than what we are used to, but we were excited just to have a season this year. The JV Stars Board wants to thank the parents, coaches and swimmers for everyone’s hard work to make this a successful swim season. Each of our swimmers have improved, friendships have been made and reconnected and we are looking forward to seeing everyone next year! The time and effort for parents to get kids to practices and swim meets and assist running swim meets is truly appreciated. Thank you again!
Finally, Happy Father’s Day to all our great JV Stars Dads!!!!
Below we have information about the End of Season Party and Awards, Invitationals and the team’s need for new stroke and turn officials next year.
End of Season Party and Awards
Our end of season party will be on Thursday, July 1st at 6 p.m. at the Pavilion next to the pool. Bring a desert to share, drinks for your own family and chairs. The team is providing pizza to those who RSVP. We need to know how much pizza to order, so please RSVP by Sunday, June 27 with the number of family members that will be attending by emailing [email protected] or [email protected] or responding to our Facebook post.
Pictures and ribbons will be handed out. We will also have an awards ceremony to recognize all the swimmers, give out some special awards for some select swimmers, and recognize those families that went above and beyond helping out the JV Stars this season.
We also request families make a monetary donations to Cy-Hope if able. Cy-Hope's mission is to make life better for all kids in the Cy-Fair area. Cy-Hope serves as a catalyst to bring needs and solutions together, bringing hope to at-risk children in the Cy-Fair community so they will grow into educated and productive citizens. Some of their programs include the BackPack program, Dierker's Champs, Cy-Hope Counseling, Hope Centers, Hope Chest, Camp Lemonade, DeVine Virtuosos and POP (Providing Opportunities Program). Your generosity is appreciated and will go towards a great program that supports our community.

The JV Stars Will Need New Stroke & Turn Officials for 2022 Swim Season
The JV Stars are very fortunate to have such a great and dedicated group of NWAL swim officials!!!! This is another group of parents who are an important and necessary component of every swim meet. Officials ensure every swimmer has fair and equitable conditions of competition and make sure that no swimmer obtains an unfair advantage over another.
We have several officials who swimmers are aging out either this year or next year and we need more parents to fill those positions. Officiating is a great way to be involved with the team. Our team of officials is a great group of people. We have fun during meets and we have the best view of the pool during each swim meet. You also learn the legal details of each stroke, touch, turn and finish. Lunches at meets are free, once you become certified, your family’s volunteer requirement is completed and, by officiating, you are a critical component of each swimmer’s improvement.
If you are interested in becoming a stroke and turn official for the 2022 season, please contact me, Aaron Guerrero. I will give you more details on the steps you have to take to become a certified stroke and turn official. To get a sense of what officiating is like, speak with any of our officials: Carol Martin, Melissa Powell, Floyd Powell, Krista Guerrero, Eileen Torres, Rebecca Stamos, John Duncan, Paul Aguirre, Drew Wasson or myself.
